Rumors swirled earlier this week that the release date of Resident Evil: Afterlife had been pushed. Now the Sony publicity site's 2010 release date slate appears to have confirmed it.
Resident Evil: Afterlife had originally been slated for release August 27, 2010. The graphic novel adaptation Priest, starring Paul Bettany and Karl Urban, will now open on that day instead, having been moved up from later that summer.
No official word yet on when RE4 will come out now, but rumor has it the Paul W.S. Anderson-directed film will now open January 14, 2011 instead.
Resident Evil: Afterlife sees Milla Jovovich back as the zombie-killing Alice, along with returning cast members Ali Larter and Spencer Locke as Claire Redfield and K-Mart, respectively. New cast members include Wentworth Miller as Claire's brother Chris Redfield, Shawn Roberts as the villainous Albert Wesker, Boris Kodjoe and Kim Coates.
