Three episodes remain until the Heroes Season 3 finale, with this Monday's Episode 3.23 1961 promising to unearth long-lost truths about Angela's past and the mystery of Coyote Sands. But many Heroes viewers are looking one step ahead. New promotional photos from NBC for the second to last episode, Episode 3.24 I Am Sylar, reveal Sylar (Zachary Quinto) pulling his trademark move on Senator Nathan Petrelli (Adrian Pasdar). Finger to skull, the Season Three shapeshifting villain looks poised to cut open the skull of the season's other villain of sorts, in his congressional office.
The news that one series regular will die this season on Heroes, and that the death will stick, has been out for months. But would NBC release these photos if the character in question were Nathan?
Some simple deductive reasoning ensures us that Nathan will not die so soon, at any rate, but he will go head-to-head with Heroes' most ruthless murderer. The synopsis for the Season finale, Episode 3.25 An Invisible Thread, includes that Nathan (Adrian Pasdar) faces off against Sylar (Zachary Quinto) to keep him from meeting the President (guest star Michael Dorn). So he may survive through hour 24, but will Petrelli be so lucky in the finale?
The Heroes camp has been busy drumming up excitement for the finale, and hinting at a huge death: Greg Grunberg (who plays Matt Parkman) told of a whole fight in a hotel room - huge - with a chair with blood all over it, and provided a photo of the chair to prove it. Jack Coleman (who plays HRG) promises that the season will end in a very unexpected way.
