Is Legend of the Seeker cancelled? The situation certainly isn't good for the fantasy series, though its ultimate fate remains unclear.
KSiteTV has noted that Tribune Company is informing Seeker fans that, "Seeker's ratings do not merit renewing it," and that they won't be bringing the show back for a third season.
Legend of the Seeker is produced by ABC Studios, but airs in syndication, sold to local stations across the country. However, TVBytheNumbers.com notes that Tribune apparently owns most, if not all, of the stations the series airs on -- likely purchasing it as a package, to air across the country on various Tribune channels. So Tribune not renewing it is almost the same as if it were airing on a major network who cancelled it.
What's unknown yet is if ABC Domestic Television, who distribute the show, might look to other non-Tribune stations across the country to air Legend of the Seeker, or if this definitively marks the end of the series. We'll keep you updated on the situation.
