Liz Lemon (Tina Fey) may lose her partner in crime sometime soon. Alec Baldwin, who plays Jack Donaghy on the Emmy Award-winning NBC series, tells Men's Journal that he plans to quit acting when his 30 Rock contract is up in 2012.
The 51-year-old actor says he believes his movie career has been a "complete failure."
"I'll tell you why," he says. "The goal of moviemaking is to star in a film where your performance drives the film, and the film is either a soaring critical or commercial success, and I never had that."
Baldwin says he also thought about giving up acting in 2007, after a voicemail of him angrily railing at his daughter went public.
The two-time Emmy winner is set to co-host the 2010 Oscars with Steve Martin, and his movie with Meryl Streep, It's Complicated, will premiere on Christmas Day.
