Linda Hamilton Lands Role on 'Weeds'

Linda Hamilton, best known for her role as Sarah Connor in 'The Terminator' and 'Terminator 2: Judgment Day', is joining the cast of the award-winning Showtime series 'Weeds'.

The Ausiello Files reports that Hamilton will appear in several episodes of the sixth season, playing an eco-conscious marijuana grower in Seattle, WA, helping out Nancy, who's on the run from Southern California. The role marks Hamilton's first return to episodic TV since 2008's 'The Line' with Sharon Lawrence, and her casting comes after the news that original cast member Elizabeth Perkins is leaving the show had proved unpopular with fans.

Perkins, who has been nominated multiple times for Emmys and Golden Globes for her role as alcoholic mother-of-two Celia Hodes, announced in May 2010 that she would not be returning for the sixth season. Instead, she will be playing James Marsden's mom in the Easter Bunny comedy, 'I Hop,' which is due out in movie theaters next year.
