After 10 years of marriage, the Jon & Kate Plus 8 couple's divorce became official on Friday after Judge Arthur R. Tilson signed a final divorce decree, Kate's lawyer, Mark Momjian, confirmed to us.
Kate will continue to live with her children in the former marital home, according to Momjian, who added that Kate and her legal team "are very pleased with the final outcome."
The 34-year-old mother of eight is pleased to have the divorce behind her. "I am very relieved that our divorce has been finalized, and I look forward to the New Year, focusing on the children," Kate said in a statement. "This has been a challenging transition for all of us, but I am confident that we will move ahead with the important task of restructuring our lives."
On Wednesday, Jon's attorney, Mark Jay Heller, told us his client was also ready to move forward. "Jon is optimistically looking forward to the new year," Heller said, "when he can join hand-in-hand with his former wife to pursue an amiable and a cordial and a cooperative effort in the role of mom and dad."
TVGuide.com's calls to Heller on Friday were not immediately returned.
