COMMUNITY "Football, Feminism and You" Review (Season 1 Episode 6)

So what did you think of tonight's episode of Community, "Football, Feminism and You?"

I thought this was another solid episode of Community. The last few episodes haven't been quite as hilarious as the first one, but they're still good for a few laughs. They've really made me like and even care about the odd characters that make up their little study group. The Violent Femmes song at the end was a nice touch too.

Do some community colleges really have football teams and pep rallies? The ones in my area don't. The "Greendale Human Beings" is a great name for a football team, though that ethnicity-free mascot was freaky. We also got a glimpse of what Annie and Troy were like in high school and it wasn't pretty. Troy regressed into an arrogant jock and Annie was crushing on him hard. They're only 18 though, so it makes sense that they would fall back into familiar patterns.

I'm with Britta, I hate when members of my gender go to the bathroom in packs. Shirley did have a funny explanation for this behavior - "the ladies' room is a place where ladies go to discuss with each other, share, and discreetly eliminate waste."

Abed broke the fourth wall with the line "I can lay low for an episode." With any other character that would have been weird, but Abed made it work. As much as I love him, I guess he has to take a backseat to the other characters once in awhile. The bit atthe end with the older versions of Troy and Abed made up for it though. He and Troy need scenes together every episode because they're just hilarious.

Some of my favorite lines tonight:

"I think if you said 'Jump,' he'd say 'How high?' If you said 'Stop,' he'd say 'Hammertime.'"

"That is our human color wheel. It goes from Seal to Seal's teeth."

"I think not being racist is the new racism."
