Life Unexpected Creator Not Too 'Confident' About Renewal

More than a week after Life UneXpected's season/series finale aired, it will be a grueling wait for Lux fans up until The CW's upfront presentation in May 20. The numbers are good (a 1.5 in the CW target 18-34 demo), sort of, and combined with excellent reviews from critics, the CW may just give this charming freshman series another season, at least.

For creator Liz Tigelaar, saying she's "confident" about a renewal is too much, especially if it means competing with long-running One Tree Hill, the rumored rival of Life Unexpected for that precious spot in the lineup.

"I feel positive about it," she tells Zap2it. "I don't mean that in competition with anybody else. I know there's a lot of speculation that either we're going to get picked up, or One Tree Hill is, and maybe that's true. I think a lot of shows should get picked up. Ratings-wise, we seem on par, but there are so many factors that go into it."
