richards magic is gone

so what i gather from "dark" is that nicci has Richards magic. if thats so then cara's agiel shouldnt work since its connected to the lord rahl. and the only way to be the lord rahl is if you have the gift. so they sorta screwed up on that one.(i think)

by the way did you also think of that.

Yeah, i was thinking that too, also in the books Richard actually becomes a Wizard.
So i was expecting Nikki's death to result in Richard's powers returning so he could eventually train his powers. o_o;
<- hasn't actually read the books

In the books it was revealed that there are 3 other Rahls besides Richard and Darken. Jennson, Oba and Nathan. Of the three, only Nathan has the magical gift....and is over 800 years old an sorta held prisoner by the Sisters of Light cause he also has the gift of prophesy ....In the books Nathan takes the title of Lord of D'Hara for a short time. So you see, even though Nicci took Richard's powers, Nathan is still out there....i wonder whos gonna play him.....

I freaked out about how much that DIDN'T make any sense, but then I remembered that the rest of the series screwed everything else up, so why not this also?I don't understand why I like to watch it. I'm ashamed of myself.

Everybody (including Goodkind) has said that the series is not meant to be EXACTLY like the books. There are many many inconsistencies. However, it is still entertaining to watch if you don't pick at every detail.

well Hiro4future. you are correct but that doesn't matter here. Because of 1 main reason. Nathan isn't mentioned in the show. Apparently they don't get their prophecies from a prophet. Plus they don't mention Jennsen is a rahl. plus in the books darken rahl never finds Jennsen.
well since a lot of us know that pristinely ungifted people are born through a rahl doesn't that make the relationship between Jennsen and Richard weird.they're both from the same mother but Richard is the son of panis rahl and jennsen the daughter of darken rahl.

in order to be lord rahl you have to have the gift. there no point to being a rahl without the gift

I will be surprised if Richard does not get his gift back by the end of the series, so don't worry. However, why did they have to kill Nicci so soon. I know the TV series doesn't follow the books but to kill a character of Nicci's importance so early seems like a waste.

Ya I thought they sorta skipped they whole Richard has siblings thing by saying the Agiel in linked through blood. I dont think they spent enough time on the Richard has powers thing. Think there could have been a better lead up to that, like maybe Zedd mentions it in an earlier episode or something, they really just jump in and jump out, oh Richard got his powers, trained, and got rid of his powers, all in like three-four episodes.

richard's magic is from his mothers side, begin lord rahl is from his father's so cara could still hurt nicci. i hope he gets his power back, i know in the books he does they better do it in the show as well.

I'm not sure, it still infuriates me the limited way that the wizard uses his magic, which I guess is why he is always going away on side quests as they never really need to use swords but it makes for good actions scene. If Richard had wizard powers they would need to have him fight Mord Sith in every damn battle or they would just make it to easy for the most powerful wizard of all time. Oh here comes 10000 soldiers, BAM! and the soldiers are gone.
Personally I think the series stays to close to the books for my liking, I'd rather they had killed Kahlen off by now.
