Another American Idol Change: Auditions Hit MySpace

For the first time in the American Idol's eight-year history, aspiring contestants can submit audition videos through MySpace.com.

Those hoping to be the next Carrie Underwood or Clay Aiken must perform — a cappella — one of the songs from an approved list. Videos are limited to 40 seconds or less, and one submission is permitted per person.

Audition videos will be judged similarly to live auditions, and a select number of online submissions will advance to the next series of callbacks in Los Angeles.
