Another Unflattering Blake Lively Magazine Cover

This one's for W Magazine. Seriously, why does Lively always look deformed on her magazine covers (remember this cover)?

Her eyes kind of look like she is having a seizure and her shoulder looks to be dislocated...

and her waste looks like a barbie doll. There is no way it can be that thin! Here head also looks way too big for the body like a bobble head. This is such a weird cover, Rachel! Good call.

I'm with you on this. I think she's a lovely girl, but the directors of these photo shoots are blind or slightly retarded. I mean, she's photogenic. How hard is it to shoot her properly? Very hard, obviously.
The tinier waste was created by tucking that red, white, and blue bow closer to her side in such way that it creates that illusion. Why would they have her tuck her head to her shoulder like that and have her hair cover up any semblance of a neck she has? Hello.
But what she has going on with the eyes happens all the time in fashion magazines. It's suppose to be sexy or something.

I agree. Those magazines use photo shop too much. I love Blake Lively because she is really great at acting not just in gossip girl but in movies like the sisterhood of the traveling pants but then magazines go ruin it by photo shopping her eyes, body EVERYTHING!

I edit photos for a living and to comment on some of the thing you have touched on, this is one of her better covers. Her waist looks small because the flag is in front of it. Either this was shot in front of a white background or they placed her in front of one, but either way it makes her body look odd because of the harshness against the white. Her image was probably cut and paste onto a white background. This does however, contribute to the pose. The pose was used to add interest to the frame as well as a presence. The red, white and blue theme insinuates this is a political issue and her serious expression would be appropriate because politics are serious. If you look at the Uncle Sam photo, his head is more disproportioned too. I believe the director of this shoots goal was to mimic that icon. I don't think the general public understands the element of this photo. The quote mentions her "grown up career". She is emulating a sexy, vixen, seductively mature look. The eyes are to eat you alive. This picture serves various purposes. All in all, it’s not her best but it is not her worst, and it is not as edited as you may think. There are some obvious corrections but even with her smoky eyes, I would have edited that to look better myself.

This cover is a fashion magazine..what she is trying to imply is fierce..Holding american flag..Its about her face and body language, telling what the magazine is trying to imply...And ive seen tons of her magazine cover smiling aways!! Its a change, anyway not alot of model can carry this look!...
And its about what the client magazine wants..niway in fashion world weird is good!!
