I thought it was a fun episode and loved the guest appearance by Chris Elliott as Lily's estranged dad. Lily's character is so enjoyable and it was great to see a large part of the episode devoted to her. The past couple weeks have been rather Barney & Robin heavy, which don't get me wrong, were awesome; but it was nice to see some focus on Lily. Also, I have to ask, what was your favorite board game invention from Lily's dad? I think 'Car Battery' was my favorite.
Here are a few of my other favorite moments and quotes from tonight's show:
-Lily's death stare, I have to say Lily was justified in all of them - especially the one at her bridesmaid.
-Marshall's death stare attempt
-Marshall's family dinners - those fake arms were creepy!
-Lily "That man broke my heart every day for 20 years". Marshall "Let's just give him some dark meat".
-The "Slap Bet" commercial
Also, did anyone else think Ted was serious when he confessed his love to Robin? I thought he was. Maybe he was partly serious? Also, I was bummed that everyone backed out on their slap. Robin and Ted wanted it so bad, but once they had the power they refused! Lame! I'm glad Marshall was able to take control of the situation and plant slap #4 on Barney.
Speaking of Barney - a quick side note. Did anyone else notice that Neil Patrick Harris joined Twitter last week? He got 30k followers in the first 20 minutes and is now up about 138k followers! Although I am not a huge twitter person, I have to admit I'm following NPH and his tweets are pretty amusing. His Twitter name is 'ActuallyNPH' if you are interested in following him.
