Salary Disputes Impact The Simpsons (Aye Carumba)

Unfortunately for all of you The Simpsons fans out there, production has been delayed on next season due to disputes (over money, what else) between the actors (the voices) and 20th Century Fox TV.

The main voice talents (as they are called) want their salary per episode to be raised from $360,000 to $500,000.

As of now, the episode count for next season has already been reduced to 20. If an agreement isn't reached soon, this number could dwindle even more.

Personally, I think $360,000 an episode for voice work sounds pretty darn good. While I understand that these actors have been working on the show for 20 years and deserve a hefty lump of cash for their efforts, it sounds a little bit excessive to be demanding the amount of money that some of the highest paid actors that actually appear in person receive for their work.

What do you think?

I think $360,000 for loan of your voice is more than decent.I understand a raise would be nice if they were at that pay grade for several years with the show. But, I don't think the show should suffer because of someone's greed. Thats just stupid, $360,000 for me to work for around a week by just talking.... ? Thats over doing it.

Yeah I completely agree that it sounds a bit excessive, I know they depend on a lot of the people to do several voices and they have been going for a looong time. But its not like that have to go on set and act, normally they just go on a conference call and record their voices there. Even some of the actors have said how easy it is.
With the recent writers strike demanding more money,(even though I'm sure the simpsons does do very well moneywise.) I'm kind of bias towards people like that because it tends to impact the shows themselves and considering how long the simpsons have been going on I really hope people come to an understanding. Before something as trivial as money stands in the way.

Actually, I don't think that asking for a pay rise is that selfish of the actors. They have been on the show for a large number of years and with the exception of the person who voices Lisa, pull double duty for voices.
However, half a million per episode is excessive. Some voice actors should be glad they have work.
Lastly, FOX will fold. They will pay up for only ONE reason. The Simpsons are too lucrative for them to pass up the series.
