A ginned-up controversy on "The Bachelorette" drew the show's biggest audience of the season and helped ABC score an across-the-board ratings win Monday.
ABC ended the night with 8.1 million viewers and a 5.3 rating/9 share in households. CBS took second with 6.8 million viewers and a 4.5/8, beating out FOX (5.2 million, 3.1/5). NBC (3.7 million, 2.4/4) came in fourth. The CW was not really in the race, averaging just 695,000 viewers and a 0.5/1.
ABC also led the adults 18-49 demographic with a 2.7 rating and was the only network to break the 2.0 mark. CBS came in second with a 1.8, followed by FOX at 1.6 and NBC at 1.4. The CW was well back at 0.3.
