Maura Tierney has traded in her Nurse Mates for legal pads.
According to a report at The Ausiello Files, the 'ER' veteran has signed on to star in ABC's new legal drama 'The Whole Truth,' replacing Joely Richardson, who quit earlier this month to spend more time with her family.
Tierney will play a deputy bureau chief in the Manhattan District Attorney's office in the Jerry Bruckheimer-produced procedural that follows a legal case from the perspective of both the defense and the prosecution. Rob Morrow will star as a criminal attorney who is Tierney's major courtroom adversary.
Tierney, who recently appeared in six episodes of 'Rescue Me,' was scheduled to star in 'Parenthood' but had to drop out because of breast cancer, which is now in remission.
