'Smallville' Exclusive: The Grim Reaper Spoiler! - Featured

The Grim Reaper is once again descending on Smallville, and this time he's not foolin' around.

Multiple sources confirm to me exclusively that two pivotal characters will bite the dust in this May's season finale. And in a bit of a departure for Smallville, both deaths will stick. "These characters will die and they will stay dead," maintains my insider. "This is the real deal."

Of course, that's not to say producers aren't planning a twist or two, because they are. But I'm told those twists do not involve bringing either character back to life.

If you're looking for another clue, you're out of luck. I'm not even going to do one of those morbid charts where I assess each character's chances for survival. I wouldn't want to do anything beyond writing this spoilery story to ruin the surprises in store.

Eh, one more little tease won't hurt anyone: One character qualifies as a Smallville vet... the other one, not so much.

Well the two obvious choices would be Lana and Chole since they are not a part of the Superman mythology. Lois, Jimmy, Clark, Oliver, and Lex are not going to die, so that only leaves Chole, Lana, and I guess you could include Tess Mercer in the mix, but that is really the only three who have a chance to die. Heres hoping Chole's execution is stayed and they just get rid of Lana and Tess, which would pave the way for Perry White to take over as the Editor.

tess mercer is in the mythology.shes in the comics as lex assistant mercy which is what oliver calls her.and lana is already gone sooo no.......my moneys on sam witwers character human half will get killed or something like that.............chloe sadly yeah it could be her time..she isnt in the comics and wb really doesnt do much to explain her....she is in the more recent comics unless the fickle finger of fate takes one of the justice leauge boys out.....could be cyborg.. he wasnt in the original line up of the jla so he might be doa and the beginning of season nine. possibly got killed fighting doomsday or something idk

Best bet would be Chloe and Davis.
Personally i would love it if it were Lana and Jimmy, as both Clark and Chloe deserve better than those losers (Lois and Davis).
Also, we know Davis(actor said so) is not coming back, so he may 'Die', but here death(the human part) would mean leaving the series and not coming back.
It would be beautiful if Chloe and Davis died together or something like that and Jimmy realizes that it was not meant to be.

I REALLY DONT WANT CHLOE TO DIE!!!!! but i do think with the way it was said this time they will stay dead indicates to me chloe, and maybe davis, kara, mercy or martha could make a return... an old character like pete could make a final return... but i do think that chloe will end up taking the fall... even though her character is the best on the show and i reallly really want her to stay... i will be gutted!! Cant wait for the rest of the series to start again... i am really getting annoyed at the CW for putting it off for sooo long a 5 weeks is enough!!!!!!!!!! what do u guys think??? i just want these characters to live arggg...

Chloe? Tess? Jimmy? Two of these characters may die--and stay dead--before the season ends, says online report.
The population of Smallville is about to be two fewer. That's the report from EW.com, which is citing a source close to the production of the show who says two characters from the CW science-fiction drama will be killed off later this season. Yikes! So who are the two unlucky stiffs?
Even if we knew, we wouldn't post them here. But for those who want to do a little detective work on their own the two are reportedly "pivotal characters," and not only will they die, but they'll buck that stupid trend of television resurrection and actually stay dead (I'm looking at you Brothers & Sisters! Lamest. "Death." Ever.). Both deaths are being written into the May season finale.
The only other clue we have is that one of the characters set to go kaput is a veteran of the show and one is a relatively new character.
Smallville has been renewed for a ninth season, so I'm going to go out on a limb here and say it isn't Clark who's going belly-up. So who does that leave? Fan-favorite Chloe? Lil' Jimmy? New villain Tess?

Yeah I forgot about Davis, that should be one of them. This season is about Doomsday, so he will die in the season finale. So the second being a pivotal character would have to be either Lana, or Chole. Tess isnt a pivotal character. I would guess, and hope that it is Lana. Her death would allow the clark and lois thing to happen, plus all of the fans have been complaining about her character having that bg episode arc that sent Lois to Star city for a month.

I know for a fact jimmy dies. And i am pretty sure this is in the season finale, but i heard also he comes back to life and it also shows u that in the season finale. This season finale will not go out in a blast like the other seasons as the producers are unsure on season nine so i think they are likley to make a finale that could be the and but could also have room for season nine possabilities... I am clueless for who the second death could be... If anybody is going to die, i am sure it will be lana because this will be the and of the whole clarna storyline and leave room for clois!.. Which people will not happen as soon as you may think. Apparently there are other "dating" possabilities for clark but are only temporary, i think this is so the Clark and Lois story line does'nt seen so abrupt and sudden. Hope u liked the spoilers but sorry to the people who didn't want to know possible story lines... :D

Uhhh, ok, so Chloe is going to die, and probably so will Davis, however in response to the above person it is no longer a question whether or not smallville will have a ninth season. It is a fact that smallville will have a ninth season it's been official for several weeks now. And jimmy wont die, he's in the freaking comics, and they also said that these characters will stay dead, not come back to life. I'll be sad to see Chloe go but i think that she has run her course and now that lois is going to find out about clarks secret their really is no reason to keep her around anymore.

I'm putting my money on Davis and Lana die. Lana dies in the Superman comics, and Kristen does not want to do the show anymore making her an obvious choice. Then, Davis is a small character but pivotal to the plot. And with Doomsday they won't need the human version of him much longer. I'm just praying that it isn't Chloe who dies. I'd be heartbroken, because she is one of my favorite characters. I know she isn't in the comics and blah blah blah, but the creators wrote her to add there own personalization to it I guess you could say. Well anyway we know for sure that neither Clark nor Lois is going to die, because come on that would be just stupid to kill of the two most important characters in the show. Chloe should be included in to make it the THREE most important characters in Smallville!!

Lana was actually in the comics, though I'm not sure about the current issues, so I don't think it will be her. Also, because she's already gone, it would be sort of anti-climatic. Chloe is a good bet because she's not in the comics, but I would hate to see her go. I like her character. However, with her love firmly attatched to Jimmy and no more speculation about a Clark/Chloe romance, I can see why they might cut her. I really don't want to see an entire season of Chloe playing wifey pooh while simultaneously trying to help out Clark. And anything she does at the planet could be done by Lois since they both have the same career track although only one of them "exists" in the Smallville/Superman timeline, so it makes sense to cut the doppleganger. The other character I think will bite it is Davis. The twist being that Doomsday isn't dead (as he will alter resurface to face Superman) but that the human facade known as Davis will be completely burned away.

I personally think it will be Davis and Lana, i agree the Davis character will most likely be one to die off, and we don't know if he will be back to face superman. I say this because the story is not exactly the same as the comic, so he may just get killed off here. The reason i say Lana is that possibly given that she is now a walking piece of kryptonite, maybe the writers play it off that she comes back to help Clark one last time. We already know that Doomsday is potentially stronger then Clark, reference him stopping Clarks punch and throwing him across the barn. Also Doomsday is from Krypton and as such may well have the same weakness to kryptonite, setting up Lana to come save Clark and thereby do the goodbye that would actually completely end there relationship. I am hoping it plays like this as opposed to Chloe getting killed off as i think she fufils a more important role for Clark, one which Lois doesn't really she is not the shoulder that Chloe is or the Voice of reason/critic that she has earned the right to be for him.
