If last season on Royal Pains was all about the absence of family, this season is all about the presence of family, according to executive producer Michael Rauch, who tells TV Guide what fans can expect in the coming episodes of season 2.
In tonight's season opener alone, Hank and Evan try to mend their relationship with a little help from Divya, just in time for the arrival of their father Eddie, played by Henry Winkler. "We really wanted to use the father character as a catalyst for going a little bit deeper into the characters and the relationships," explains Rauch. "He brings out sides of both Hank and Evan that we haven't seen before. We really see a lot more into their back story and also into what made them who they are today."
