The dispute over Watchmen (2008) may not be won't be handed down by a judge next week after all. Reports have surfaced that Fox and Warner Bros. will request tomorrow that the case be dismissed. According to The Hollywood Reporter:
Terms of the agreement will not be disclosed, but it is said to involve a sizable cash payment to Fox and a percentage of the film's boxoffice. Fox will not be a co-distributor on the film, nor will it own a piece of the Watchmen property going forward. The studios are set to release a joint statement announcing the agreement Friday.
Neither Fox nor Warner Bros. would comment for the story, but so far this sounds like good news. Stay tuned - we'll see what happens tomorrow morning!
