We've hit the second half of the Starz miniseries, The Pillars of the Earth and the action certainly hasn't slowed down. In this week's episode, "Legacy," we've got romance, violence and the death of a main character. Needless to say, there are spoilers ahead. When we last left our heros, Prior Philip was about to be hanged and Jack opened his eyes in a pile of bodies.
This week, Philip was saved by his brother, who is now the secretary to the newly renamed Empress Maud. He stated his case for the market, as did the evil Waleran and Regan Hamleigh. Maud granted them both a market but asked for a hundred pounds in return. To get the money, Philip decided to play the futures market with Aliena and planned a fleece fair of his own. The Hamleighs and Waleran, who were granted the rights to the quarry might have ended up broke, formed a plan of their own. After all, how does one play both sides of the royal fence without a little extra pocket change?
