Remember, Ken Jennings: Records were made to be broken.
Roger Craig, a graduate student at the University of Delaware, broke the one-day winnings record on Jeopardy! Tuesday.
Craig, whose Final Jeopardy bet of $30,000 sealed the win, earned a total of $77,000, edging out the $75,000 record set by Jennings during his now famous Jeopardy run.
The final category was "Literary and Movie Title Objects," with the clue being: "The inspiration for this title object in a novel and a 1957 movie actually spanned the Mae Khlung River."
Craig successfully came up with "What is The Bridge on the River Kwai?"
(The 1957 film won seven Oscars, including for best picture, music, lead actor Alec Guinness and director David Lean.)
The 33-year-old Craig's two-day winnings amount to $114,000. In comparison, Jennings, who competed in 74 games, earned a total of $3.02 million.
