You see them both on NBC's Thursday night comedy lineup. Pretty soon you'll see them both on the big screen together.
NBC comedy stalwarts Steve Carell and Tina Fey are set to hit movie screens next year on the upcoming comedy Date Night. The two, who play nutty manager Michael Scott on The Office and equally crazy head writer Liz Lemon on 30 Rock respectively, will appear as a married couple on their first movie together.
"It is a Thursday night wet dream, Date Night," says director Shawn Levy.
He adds that the project, which hits theaters in April, is not a simple vanity project. "Any great comedic star does punch up on the script and does daily punch up on the script via improvisation. So, with Tina and Steve, both of whom are writers, we forget Steve wrote 40-Year-Old Virgin with Judd Apatow."
Date Night follows the Fosters, who find their routine date night becomes much more than just dinner and a movie, when they get involved in some sort of syndicate. It is not a romcom, we can tell you that much, although it's very funny. Catch the trailer here.
