Diane Ruggiero: Ex-Ex List Showrunner

The Ex List is on SideReel's list of Fall Shows that are lookin' good.

So...should we be a little bit concerned that showrunner Diane Ruggiero (previously involved with Veronica Mars) has departed due to creative differences with CBS?

Perhaps.

The show already has a new showrunner and CBS has announced that there will be no postponement of production (and that they have faith in their new showrunner, who takes over as of the show's 6th episode).

Showrunners do depart shows and the show can end up for the better (see Brothers & Sisters). They also can end up for the worse (see Smallville and Gilmore Girls).

So...stay tuned...and decide whether you liked Ex-List more pre- or post-Episode 6, when the shift occurs (or like it the same).

The Ex List premieres on CBS October 3rd at 9PM.

Hm, I'm suspicious with that departure for sure. I feel like the way this show is looking would be much more successful ABC-style rather than CBS, so maybe CBS had some creative ideas that are going to make it more CBS-like and therefore possibly not what viewers will be looking for! I guess we'll see how it goes!
