Who Else Can't Be Killed by the Colt? (Season 5, Episode 10)

The mid-season finale of Supernatural may have been incredibly depressing and without hope, but one single line caused fans' minds to start racing at the speed of light. After Lucifer got up after being shot by the Colt, he said that he is one of only five creations that are immune to the Colt's killing ability.

This comment caused my mind to race with a thousand different questions. Does he mean him specifically or angels in general? What are the other four? Why would Samuel Colt do this? It's enough to leave Supernatural fans in a daze of theories and possibilities.

For the sake of my own sanity, I'm going to assume he was referring to himself and not all angels. Creations can refer to an entire class of beings or individual creations, and I choose to believe it's the latter. With that in mind, what are the other four?

Since Lucifer is immune, it's a pretty safe bet that God is also immune. A gun that can kill God but not Lucifer seems a little unrealistic, even for a show that featured Paris Hilton.

I'm also inclined to assume Michael is the third creation. He and Lucifer are the two primary rivals, and they seem like they're equals on the battlefield, so it would be logical to assume that Michael is also safe.

But who else could it be? Possibly Sam and Dean are immune, since they seem unbelievably important, but that might be too easy. Are there other major players we haven't met yet? Angels like Castiel aren't important enough in the grand scheme of things to fall under this incredibly limited exception to the Colt's awesome power.

Another popular theory is that God and Michael aren't immune, and that the other four creations are the Horseman of the Apocalypse. If this is true, it would essentially mean that Samuel Colt was a Devil worshipper, because there's no other reason to invent a gun that can kill anything except for Lucifer and the Four Horsemen.

If Lucifer actually did mean that all angels are immune, then that means there are four other kinds of creatures that aren't. We know it kills demons and humans, so what else is left? God? Horsemen? Unicorns?

My brain is already starting to fry a little bit, so I actually appreciate the long hiatus before the next new episode of Supernatural, because it gives us time to think. But I have no doubt that Supernatural will come back to this. You don't casually drop in line about being one of four creations immune to the Colt without any intention of exploring the other four. Eric Kripke might be crazy, but he's not that crazy.

So who else do you think is immune from the ultimate killing power of the Colt? Am I even remotely close or way off base?

I don't count God as a creation (being the creator of all things and so on), so I'd assume he was referring to himself and the four archangels. Michael, Gabriel, Raphael and another one (Azrael?). Or maybe Death.
As to why Colt did this: I think he was taught how to make the gun, possibly by an archangel (Gabriel?), and that the archangel wouldn't have given away the secret of how to kill another archangel.

It would have to include all the archangels, as Lucifer is a fallen angel himself. Why would it kill them but not him? And I think all the archangels would have to be immune, not just some. So that means there are four more "creations" that cannot be killed by the Colt. What are they? No idea.

Wait, was Lucifer a fallen ArcAngel? Because if he is then all the ArcAngels must be immune. If not, all the Angels must be immune.
But, we know that Cas was almostpositive that the Colt would kill Lucifer meaning he must not have been aware of these 5 things. That also means either a)its not all Angels and the fat is a secret known only to a few people or b)the Demons tampered with it when they made the new bullets. I would argue the latter as Demons are tricky little guys. Maybe Lucifer, knowing that the Winchesters would probably come after him with the Colt, told his demon cohorts how to make the new bullets but not the originals. Now, the new bullets can't kill 5 things he doesnt want dead (namely, himself and the Four Horsemen). This would make sense especially if the Demons were not aware of this modification and they were right that Lucifer has no real care for them.

<<<(Azrael?)>>>
Makes sense that the Colt wouldn't be able to kill cartoon characters. Gargamel and the Smurfs are probably immune, too.

Lucifer specifically said Death was another creature the colt couldn't kill. Right after his I'm one of the 5 line, he says something along the lines of "what I'm digging up is another one". So, what are the other 3? There are 4 horsemen, so that's out. Honestly, my Christian theology is a bit thin, so I have no clue.

Alright here's my theory.....
I think that when Lucifer meant 5 creatures in creation he meant God, him, Michael, Gabriel and Raphael.
I have this theory based off of Catholic theology which says that Lucifer was the closest angel to God before the fall so it makes sense that the colt cant kill him where it could kill other lesser angels.
I think Michael, Raphael and Gabriel because they are the three arc angels mentioned in the Bible and the ones that the Catholic religion names as the three arc angels. I realize that the writers will probably incorporate more arc angels but I think they're still going to hold those three in higher regard than the others.
And it'd be completely retarded if the gun could kill God..I mean come on.
I could be wrong I wouldn't be surprised especially if Lucifer was telling the truth when he said that Death couldn't be killed by the colt....Any thoughts on this??

1. Michael
2. Lucifer
3. Grim
4. Raphael
5. Gabriel
Best logical answers for this question i think....

I think it's because Lucifer was an angel, a fallen angel. Angels can only be killed by other angels. And since the colt was made for good, it shouldn't kill angels (supposedly good creatures) ????

Personally I think five would be
God, Jesus, Holy Spirit, Lucifer, and Anti-christ (holy trinity plus two?) but since Jesus and the holy spirit wont be in the show maybe the five could include archangels. Personally I doubt that the Colt would kill any of the horseman it would be too easy. To tell you the truth they can really go any way they want with it.

Castiel references that only angels can kill other angels possibly meaning that the colt can't kill angels all together, there is also that man who discovered how to live forever and is now peacefully resting in a refrigerator for eternity that could be one of the possibilities and i reckon death would have to be one as you them as you can't kill death, also looking into the other things that haven't turned up Jesus and Mary after all jesus is gods only son and mary was his mother essentially meaning that she is gods missus

i keep wondering why dean and sammy even tried to use the colt because they knew that it couldnt kill castiel. fallen or not lucifer is still an angel. and castiel (or another angel) will have to kill him.p.s I LOVE CASTIEL&&DEAN XD

When they were looking for the colt castiel said he was not sure that the colt will be able to kill lucifer, and remember that A Demon ( the one that manipulated Sam and allowed him to set lucifer free-) showed Bobby how to fix the Colt, they must have made some changes, also speaking of killing angels ,Remember that dean asked Castiel about a weapon that can kill Angels he said that they didnt had enough time to get one. If lucifer goes into the same group as the other angels , same of one of the 5 things the colt cant kill... then why dont get one of the weapons that can kill angels? with that im asuming not angels can be put on the same group as the ones the colt cant kill.

Ok so here is my thought on the 5 beings that cannot be killed by the colt
1. No angels can be killed by it. (which would include Lucifer and the four horsemen because they are all angels. Besides only an angel can kill an angel)2. God. (No explanation required)3. Hell hounds. (Remember Dean shot that one but it didn't die it just shot black blood out? When the colt kills something they like spark or whatever)4. Reapers. (because you can't kill death)5. Ghosts. (because the colts bullets wouldn't be able to hit them)
Some of you on this list named off the arch angels in this show along with god and well there are 7 arch angels not just 5, but there are 8 counting lucifer, so i count all angels. Some of you say Well, Azazel is an angel so the colt shouldn't have killed him. All i can say to that is that in the bible he was an angel, but in the show they made him a demon. Anyway those are the choices i have because i used logic from the show to back it up. Except that part about God being immune.I just didn't think there was explanation required.

I think that 5 creations means that God probably isn't counted, so if Lucifer is one of them then the other 4 might be those 4 archangels that Castiel once mentioned had all spoken to God -anyone else remember that? I'm not sure which ep it was..

ok sooooo, i dont have a a theory as too all 5, but yes azreal is an angel, but in my opinion, i agree with rodo, because when lucier says that he is 1 of 5 "creations" that can't be killed by the colt, i dont think god counts in that list, as him being the "creator" and not a creation...

on death (the horseman)- in a couple fictional works, Death's physical manifestation could be 'killed' because the physical form wasn't a necessarily element in the whole life, death cycle. in this case, essentially all killing death would do is remove the notion of a 'will' behind death; so there would no longer be death 'for a reason,' but the actual process isn't halted. basically it would mean that things like in the 'final destination' movies couldn't happen because there would be no force making all those 'natural' accidents happen, but people would still die. this makes me open to the idea that even death could be killed.
i don't know if thats what they were going for, but i just don't think that the corporeal form of pestilence, famine or war couldn't be killed; and if one horseman can die, they all must be able to (the must in this case is more poetic then necessary). also, although the four horseman are supposed to be angels according to the bible, when we met the character War, he did not strike me as an angel. he seemed to me to simply be a manifestation, which is neither angel or daemon, but more like ... well, a shell meant to contain a singular notion.
my votes for the five immune ones are Lucy, Gabe, Mike, Ralph, and the vessel of God (assuming God isn't a creation, but the form which it takes to walk the earth is). speaking of forms that walk the earth, how come no ones mentioned Christ as a possible candidate for 'things which the colt can't kill'? have people just been assuming that Christ is the same as God (which, depending on your understanding, could be the case)?

also id like to note that this colt isn't the original, per se, because the original had a limited number of bullets. after they ran out, bobby modified it so it could kill daemons with normal bullets, so it is potentially less powerful then when it was in its original form (the idea being the colt was originally just a pure delivering device and the bullets were a pure killing device, and now the power of the colt is split between being a delivering device and a 'bestowing killing power' to normal bullets device).

Warning spoiler:

... After watching the last episode "The devil you know." It was proven: The leader of all the crossroad demons; Crowley appears to be immune to the gun also. So we have Lucifer and Crowley. I do not count God as a creation, rather a Creator. And I am pretty sure Michael is Immune too. But does he count as a creation alone or as the creation; Archangels with Lucifer, Gabriel and so on. In that case we have Archangels And "Special" Demons (?) I believe Death can't be killed by it either. I mean C'mon Death Dead!? So add him and possibly the horsemen. I'm not quite sure about the whole horseman thingy. Did Sam and Dean kill any of them? I think i skipped an episode..Anyways. the last two... I strongly doubt its Sam and Dean since they both have died before and will just be brought back to life by angels. AND Samuel Colt died long before they were born. If not the blood line "streching back to kain and Abel" to quote Michael. The ancestors of Sam and Dean, also in a wierd way are immune. wich would be stupid considering the massive amount of people that would be equalient to today.
So if you buthered reading all this :) ... Please discuss.

And also. Just want to bring it up. How the heck did Dean manage to KILL Zachariah?!! I thought only Angels could kill Angels. Though he did use an Archangels blade (or was it the blade of a regular Angel? Anyways it looked the same.)... And also in episode 19 season 5 . let me quote Gabriel ..."And give her my real sword? That thing can kill me!" As if Those Gods were able to kill him, an archangel with his real sword.
