Pack your bags because this week's Biggest Loser is heading to Texas. Why, you ask? Because according to Men's Fitness, five of the 10 fattest cities in the United States are located there. The overarching challenge for the week is to get the state fit, and it begins with a call to action: Contestants get on the radio stations and ask listeners to come join them in a 5k (3.1 miles).
Each player gets a team and away they go. Daris is looking mighty skinny as he races to finish first with a time of 21:02. He then heads back to find his team and finishes the course with them at his side. O'Neal inspires one 35-year-old and it makes me tear up. "Seeing how far you've come makes me think I can do this," she says to him. Isn't O'Neal the best? I loved his earlier quote: "The little things you do turn out big results and that's where it starts." Sam is inspired by a man named Jeff that has only ever walked a mile. At the finish there are lots of tears. One woman remarks, "I can't even walk through Wal-Mart. I have to take a cart, and I just walked 5k."
The players later meet Alison where they're all sporting cowboy hats. Their challenge, with the reward of immunity, is to wrangle the most calves into their pen. Sam wants to pay Koli back for saving him last week, so he vows to help Koli win the immunity ... and he does!
