'Til Death is dead.
Fox will air the sitcom's remaining new episodes as scheduled and it will not return for a fifth season, TVGuide.com has confirmed. The cancellation news follows comments made earlier by series star and executive producer Brad Garrett to Zap2it.
"The other night, we got an 0.8 [rating]," the 49-year-old actor told the site. "Once your mom stops watching, you're an 0.4. The network said, 'What do you suggest?' I said, 'If you give me one more month, I can take you to a zero.' And there was dead silence."
The series' most recent new episode Sunday attracted 2.54 million viewers.
"After year two, when you're getting beat by Telemundo, it's time to go home," Garrett told Zap2it. "I mean, even the show my housekeeper watches was beating the show that was paying her salary. I'd come in the room, and she'd quickly turn off Telemundo."
The series stars three-time Emmy winner Garrett and Joely Fisher as his wife of 23 years. 'Til Death recently welcomed new cast members Lindsey Broad and Timm Sharp as the couple's daughter and her boyfriend, respectively. Halfway through the fourth season, Broad was replaced by actress Kate Micucci.
The former Everybody Loves Raymond star said he's open to returning to television again, if it's the right project. "What this last experience did was to make me more picky than ever," he said.
