American Idol is getting younger.
Beginning with Season 10, contestants can be between 15 and 28 years old, a year younger than in previous seasons, Fox announced Monday.
"A lot of young, talented people are now seeking careers and representation before they turn 16," executive producer Cecile Frot-Coutaz said. "Lowering the age limit allows us to tap into this talent pool."
Here's the list of summer audition locations:
Saturday, July 17: Bridgestone Arena, Nashville
Wednesday, July 21: Bradley Center, Milwaukee
Monday, July 26: TBA, New Orleans
Tuesday, Aug. 3: IZOD Center, East Rutherford, N.J.
Wednesday, Aug. 11: Frank Erwin Center, Austin, Texas
Thursday, Aug. 19: AT&T Park, San Francisco
