NBC to Replace The Listener - Featured

Hope you weren't too attached to NBC Summer series and Canadian import, The Listener.

Beginning July 30th, NBC is opting to no longer air the series on Thursday nights in favor of showing Law and Order repeats.

NBC will stream the remaining episodes on NBC.com beginning in August.

However, if you live in Canada, you're still in luck. From the Hollywood Reporter:

"A CTV spokesman on Thursday said new episodes of the Shaftesbury Films drama will continue to air Thursday nights on CTV and at 7 p.m. on Space, a sci-fi cable channel. The Canadian audience numbers for The Listener have been stronger than ratings on NBC, where the drama last Thursday posted a disappointing 0.7 rating and 2 share among adults 18-49."

US viewers - are you disappointed to see the series disappear from the NBC schedule?

I don't watch this show. I don't even know what its about but I just need to say this.
Does NBC really need even more law and order repeats. I mean L&O is like 50% of its schedule nowadays.

I agree with everything everyone said but I still liked the show. The story has a strong premise and the story telling flows from one episode to the next leaving me wanting to know what happens next. I think the show improved with each episode.Only one character I would change that would enhance the show greatly...that "Victoria Secret" Detective. She started out a bombshell and toned it down as the series unfolded. Honestly, nothing about the way she portrays the character is appealing. In fact, it gets in the way of a good story. Other than that the show had alot of promise.

wow you americans have really got stop hating on us canadians. ya'll liked flash point so whats the problem with the listener? you guys liked supernatural and ghost whisperer and medium so this is similar and it's actually funny instead of always intense. i really liked it and i loved seeing the parts of toronto that i know and love, made me so proud! it's actually a great show and trust me go look at some of your american shows like oh let's say "secret life of the american teenager" and the acting of the people on the listener is much better than those actors. keep in mind these are no name actors who are probably just getting their big break so stop hating is all i ask!
