Jeff Goldblum Joins Law & Order: Criminal Intent

Jeff Goldblum, who was seen relatively recently on television on the shortly lived Raines, (though most of us probably remember from older flicks such as Independence Day and Jurassic Park) has joined the cast of Law & Order: Criminal Intent.

Goldblum will replacing Chris Noth, who has finished his run on the franchise (he also played the same role on the original Law & Order for over 100 episodes) as of the end of this season (which is still filming).

Says producer Dick Wolf about Noth's departure, "Chris has been a member of [our] family since the beginning, and Mike Logan is one of the most popular detectives in the history of television. We all wish him the best."

How do you think Goldblum will do on the show?

I can't wait to see what Jeff will bring to the pack. I thought he was funny on Raines and will most likely love him on CI. Can't wait!

I think this could be a great thing. Much as I love Chris Noth and Mike Logan, I always kind of resented the intrusion of any other detectives into my Hour of Goren (with the exception of Eames--partners are a-ok). However, Jeff Goldblum tends to play similarly quirky characters to D'onofrio's Goren, so this may end up just doulbing my fun!
