Of course, Ziva (Cote de Pablo) was back, and while it wasn't explicitly made clear if she's back to the NCIS team, we all know it's going in that direction. On this episode, we get the usual murder mystery that involved a cop who was out for revenge - although there was also something going on behind the shadows here.
We realize early on that the rescue mission that took the team to North Africa was only the first step of this thing with Ziva; getting her to be back to NCIS was another matter entirely. Eventually, it's up to Gibbs (Mark Harmon) to decide if Ziva would be back or not. At least she aced Vance's (Rocky Carroll) psych evaluation. But trying to rebuild ties with the McGee (Sean Murray) and Tony (Michael Weatherly) were more complicated. Abby (Pauley Perrette), meanwhile, kind of blasted Ziva since she doubted Tony's motives in shooting Rivkin, but then again, she admitted she couldn't blame Ziva for reacting the way she did. These two are amazing.
So things looked peachy, but toward the end of the episode, Ziva admitted that she had orders to earn Gibbs' trust by getting rid of Ari. Of course, Gibbs had problems with it, and while the two may have solved some issues, there might be some more trust issues there. Ziva did admit to him that he's now her father figure because Eli betrayed her.
But back on the case. The killer's signature was to shave his victims.
And on to Tiva - while there might be doubts if last week's premiere made a dent on Tiva, this episode cleared all those. Very intense discussion, ultimately culminating in her putting her hand between his hands.
