TVGuide Report: NBC Eyes 24 Pick-Up

24's days may not be numbered.

NBC is considering picking up the real-time drama should Fox cancel it, reports Entertainment Weekly.

Last week, it was reported that 20th Century Fox, the studio behind 24, and Fox network were close to ending the series after eight seasons because of an increase in production costs and decrease in ratings.

Production for Season 8 is scheduled to wrap March 24.

An e-mail to the show's rep was not immediately returned to TVGuide.com

Do you think NBC should restart 24's ticking clock?

At this point I treat 24 like an action movie I watch piece by piece. I stopped caring about the story and sextuple crossing a few seasons ago but its still an entertaining show.

OHPLEASEGODNO.24 is getting waaaay too old. And the last thing it needs is any sort of support from NBC.
