It's been a while since we last saw Carter Baizen in the Upper East Side. Remember him? He's a St. Jude graduate and rival of Nate (Chace Crawford) and Chuck (Ed Westwick) in the first season of Gossip Girl. To refresh your memory even more, he's the guy who turned his back on his parents, was consequently left without a trust fund, and was forced to take matters into his own hands by shaping his own future. He's also Serena's (Blake Lively) escort to the cotillion who got punched by Nate after Chuck manipulated Nate into thinking that Carter was pursuing Blair (Leighton Meester).
While he only appeared in two episodes of Gossip Girl thus far, it seems that Carter has left quite an impression with Gossip Girl fans as producers of the series have decided to bring the character back to the canvas.
According to Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello, actor Sebastian Stan will be reprising his dubious role for at least two episodes of Gossip Girl. Don't shoot the messenger but it seems that Carter's appearance in the Upper East Side will spell bad news for Chuck and Blaire fans. His two-fold mission, Ausiello reports, is to mess with Chuck and hook up with Blair.
Ironically, Sebastian Stan is also the real-life boyfriend of Leighton Meester so this will be interesting to watch. The couple has also been rumored to be engaged but a rep has confirmed that they are not.
Stan, who is perhaps best known for his role as Chase Collins in the supernatural thriller The Covenant, is also credited for his work in Rachel Getting Married, The Education of Charlie Banks, Tony N' Tina's Wedding, Red Doors and Spread. Most recently, he has been cast as Jack Benjamin in Kings, a modern-day soap about a hero who rises to become the King of his nation, which is based on the biblical story of King David.
