We begin this episode with Brooke's practice baby (Angie) crying her eyes out and Peyton complaining that she can't sleep (umm, does Petyon even pay rent?). Brooke and Peyton try everything to get the baby to shut it, but have little success. I'd cry too if my two new mommies (albeit temporary) were two 22 year olds that know nothing about parenting...
Next we head over to the Scott household where we learn that it's Jamie's 5th birthday! Nathan is over at the high school playing basketball where Dan shows up (Dan is a really good stalker this season, isn't he) and requests to attend Jamie's birthday party and be a part of his life. Nathan humorously tells Dan in response that "You should have thought of that before you killed Jamie's great uncle". Nathan does have a point.
Lucas obsesses over his shirt choice for the party because he learns that Lindsey will be attending and clearly the only thing that stands between a Lucas/Lindsey reconciliation is the proper shirt choice. I know I said that I didn't want Lucas to just forget about Lindsey, but tonight I found Lindsey's return to be particularly unexciting. In fact, I used the Lucas/Lindsey scenes (do they not have a one word couple nickname yet? Can we go with Boring?) as an opportunity to play Scrabulous and read the news.
Dan shows up at the party and Deb is none too happy. Speaking of Deb, glad to see she has matured, flirting with a clown and playing along with a joke that involved a lengthening balloon (and questionably doing more with the clown later). At any rate, Dan still excels at his mind games and adorably gives Jamie a basketball jersey with Nathan's number on it.
Peyton tries to act all mature and grown up and apologizes to Lindsey for everything and Lindsey continues to act sullen, but tells Peyton it isn't her fault. Lindsey later shows up at Lucas's place and Lucas mistakenly thinks she is coming back to him, but she just wants her stuff. He tells her to keep her house key, but she leaves it on the dresser. So we have a 'no' at the wedding, a 'no' to Lucas in New York and a returning of the key. Are things officially over yet? One can only hope.
Finally, Brooke discovers that parenting is like, hard, so she gets Lucas to deal with the baby so she can get work done. They reflect on how life used to be easier and cuddle. Haley and Peyton also have a heart to heart and Peyton admits that she might partially be in love with the idea of being in love with Lucas. Hallelujah, praise the lord! Now get a new boyfriend and MOVE ON.
-What idiots stash the porn in a kitchen cabinet? Boys, I guess.
-"How cute do I look with this baby? Aren't I soo Angelina?" - Brooke. It's statements like these that make me question if Brooke is ready for parenthood.
-Skillz has become One Tree Hill's pop-culture referencing maniac. This week he takes a crack at relationship status on Facebook (also, I am enjoying how Skillz has been getting an increasing amount of character growth lately).
-I don't know if you all noticed but there was an 8 foot tall inflatable dinosaur in front of the Scott house for Jamie's party, which was awesome of a Jurassic Park magnitude.
-Cutest scene in the episode: Mouth and his roomies watch Millicent's pilates video like it's porn. Millicent then enters the room and shows she can play with the guys by bringing pizza, beer and water guns.
-Wait, Dan needs a heart transplant? What?
