Another one bites the dust. Though it seemed ABC’s THE WHOLE TRUTH would have one more week to make the case it could improve its ratings, Entertainment Weekly reports that the show has been cancelled.
Co-executive producer KristieAnne Reed confirmed the bad news when she tweeted, "ABC gave us the word. We will only make 13 episodes of The Whole Truth." Worse, it’s not known how many of those episodes will actually make it to air. Episode 5 "When Cougars Attack" is still on the schedule for Wednesday, October 27, but In the Spotlight with Robin Roberts: All Access Nashville will air on November 3 and the Country Music Awards takes over ABC’s schedule on November 10, so it would be easy for The Whole Truth to disappear altogether.
The Whole Truth starred Maura Tierney and Rob Morrow as a prosecutor and defense attorney who oppose each other in court each episode. It averaged 5.3 million viewers per episode and a 1.5 rating/4 share among adults 18-49.
