I'm pro equality for all, I have no qualms calling myself a feminist. This show first episode was a piece of trash. It was misandry, pure and simple. Not only was the plot poorly written, the acting really bad, the special effects cheap but it was unabashed misandry. They made every male characters, rapists or demon rapists. Seriously. This show is insulting and disgusting, it is far from its roots in term of quality.

Some of the best cyberpunk (genre) out there, to the level I can compare it to Ghost in the Shell (better visuals than GITS, stronger on the social comment but a bit weaker on the philosophical side) which is, coming from me, about the greatest praise you can get. The only nitpick is the first episode in the English dub, the voice actress for the mother is not great, though the rest of the series dub in English is good (for English dub).

I really like it personally. I have quite a lot of family and friends in the gaming industry and it does represent some companies surprisingly accurately despite the goofy resolutions to dedramatize what is actually a ton of abuses.

I especially like the flashback episode about the writer in season 2, I had futurist epiphanies like that received the same way by people around me for them to turn concrete a few years later so I liked that on a personal note.
