But a month later, there’s already trouble in paradise. 'Shahs of Sunset' Star: Ryan Seacrest 'Is Helping The Peace Process'

"Shahs of Sunset" breakout star Reza Farahan says it's easier to be a gay man on TV than a Persian, but neither are easy. So the fact that a gay Persian man is on TV every Sunday night not only makes him proud, but he also thinks it could help change the world, particularly the Middle East. "I think being Persian and different in anyone is really hard because Persians don't like people that deviate from the norm," Farahan tells The Huffington Post. "So if you don't follow the cookie-cutter life they want you to follow, they are not going to accept you. So is it really difficult being gay and Persian? [ Nods. ] And it's even more difficult for people that aren't as confident as I am." He jokes that behind the scenes, people on the show call him "Stonewall Farahan" -- a reference to the Stonewall Inn riots of 1969, a key moment in the gay rights movement, and a name that he embraces. "The best part of being on the show is getting Facebook messages and tweets from people telling me I helped them come out of the closet. They see they have a future; they are not going to kill themselves," says Farahan. He adds, "It took the combination of Ryan Seacrest Productions and the bravery of Bravo to come together to put six Middle Easterners on TV. Ryan is helping the peace process. I think it's brave to put us on TV at a time in history when it's the most volatile region on earth." "Shahs of Sunset" airs Sunday nights on Bravo.

Zap2it: How has being on "Shahs of Sunset" changed you?Golnesa 'GG' Gharachedaghi: It's made me a lot more humble. I'm not much of a huge people person, and I've noticed now I'm much more nice to people. I take my time out to smile. It's made me more humble. You hope people wouldn't judge. The best thing about reality TV is [the audience gets] to watch you grow, as a process. You begin with a persona, and they see you come out of it.Zap2it: Do you still keep contact with your ancestral culture in Iran?Golnesa 'GG' Gharachedaghi: I was born and raised here -- I'm as Americanized as it comes -- but I go to Iran every single year, because it's an amazing culture. I'm not 100 percent with the government, but it's a beautiful culture.Zap2it: What does the rest of your family think of you being on television?Golnesa 'GG' Gharachedaghi: Last summer, my dad...

Shahs of Sunset Star Asa Soltan Rahmati and Jermaine Jackson Jr. Are Dating!

Way back during Season 1 of Shahs of Sunset I received some tea about Asa Soltan Rahmati regarding her love life. So I contacted Asa and asked if it was true (it was) and if she wanted to talk about it (she didn’t). You may or may not have noticed but the topic of Asa’s love life is never mentioned on Shahs. You don’t see her dating anyone, flirting with anyone, it’s as if she lives the life of a nun. Does that sound like Asa? Of course not. The true tea is that Asa...
