Why isn't Big Bang Theory on this list?

Lol seriously agree with @jen5187. It's literally blah blah blah Sheldon is awkward. Blah blah blah Penny is mean. Throw in culturally insensitive Raj and Wolowitz jokes and I've written a whole episode of Big Bang Theory in this one comment.

this article is laughable. These shows are old, yes but most of them are still good

Personally, I do not think a show should be cancelled/concluded as long as there are fans for it. If I don't like a show I simply don't watch it. I hate when my favorite shows end. And would not want that for others.

While I agree with asleom's method, I find most of the shows beyond the first season are past their prime. There were 4 or 5 shows that started out this season that became old after a few episodes.
Here's a few that make my "Worn out past their prime" list:
The Blacklist
Hawaii 5-O
Law and Order SVU
All the NCIS's
Arrow
Anything with Chicago in it
There are more but I need to watch some British TV shows.

There's something about The Voice that I just can't. stop. watching. However, I would not be heartbroken if it went away. I watch all NCIS' except the original. I couldn't get past the first few seasons for some reason. As for Criminal Minds, I was constantly starting to be paranoid and having anxiety issues over it, so I had to force quit in Season 1 or 2. I don't watch any of the other shows on this list.

For those talking about The Big Bang Theory... I still love that show. Obviously (like asleom said) there is still an audience for it, as there must be with all of these shows, or it would go away. (Although people tend to be creatures of habit and that could absolutely be why some shows are still watched. For example, I loved Castle in the beginning and was literally wondering when it would get cancelled, but I stuck with it to the bitter end.) I'll admit, there seemed to start to be a lull with TBBT, but I feel like that three-year contract caused them to get a little comfortable. Now that they are up for contracts again, it seems the show has gotten funnier again. If it must go, I just want some happiness for Raj and Stewart before the show finally ends.

Remember when shows generally didn't last past ten seasons?

As long as they make money they are going to get new seasons. But I love all NCIS shows. And for example, I stopped watching Law & Order SVU I think after season 6 or 7. Criminal Minds I binge watch, just like all Superhero shows (DC or Marvel - doesn't matter)

The Big Bang Theory will be most likely ending on its 11th season. SVU is looking like it's ending this year just by the way they're airing the episodes. Greys should end with a reduced 14th season 13 episodes with a 2 hour wrap up TV movie. Supernatural will maybe end with a reduced season.

I love the BIg Bang Theory it's a great show and loved, laughed and grown right along with the show! I think if a show still has a large fan base and makes enough money to keep running, other people can keep their opinions of those shows to themselves and just not watch them if they don't like them.

Oh please you probably sit around watching the kardashians or other reality trash and have no idea what real tv is, people who actually have talent acting out well written and thought out scripts!

Why not add some relatively new shows to the list such as Shadowhunters, Supergirl, and Six to name a few.

While I agree that some of these series noted in the article have lost some of their punch that they had in early seasons, it doesn't negate the fact that they are still better quality shows than some of these one season wonders. And in a time of reality everything, good quality scripted shows need to be held on for dear life. However I do agree it's painful when a good show becomes a painful duty to watch till the end.

I am pretty much done with NCIS. The writing has gone downhill since season 12 and the loss of major characters has left holes that they have used gimmicks to fill. Its time to end the series.

SPN still holds a special place in my heart, but I agree that it should have been axed long ago. Unless it's some kind of silly reality show most shows do better when the director and writers have a clear creative vision and stick to it. Sadly most networks seem to follow the guidlines of "well, if the fans will watch it we'll just go on and on beyond the original vision of the creators until the show has grown so stale and repetitive that the fandom dissolves itself in disgust and we can beat no more money out of this pitiful dying horse"
And if people really love a show, there is probably room for a spin off anyway, with it's own solid vision.
