'Smash' series finale: Megan Hilty doesn't want 'a lot of hate mail'

"Congratulations! You're pregnant."That bombshell -- as it were -- ended the next-to-last episode of NBC's "Smash," and it sends Broadway star Ivy Lynn into Sunday's (May 26) two-hour finale with very conflicted emotions. As played by actual Great White Way veteran Megan Hilty, Ivy has become the toast of New York as Marilyn Monroe in the musical "Bombshell," but the unexpected news from her doctor is among the things she must deal with before the series' final curtain comes down."I'll be in Hawaii" watching the finale's broadcast, a cheerful Hilty tells Zap2it. "I'm going to go to the bar with my boyfriend and all my friends, and we'll watch it at the resort." Nikki Blonsky Heads to Smash

Smash has tapped another musical veteran for its upcoming season. 'Smash' Season 2 adds three new regular cast members

Looks like NBC's "Smash" is making room for more new faces. According to TVLine, in addition to new show runner Josh Safran, the show is casting for three new series regulars.The new characters are as follows:- Courtney, an African-American chorus member in her mid- to late-20s with a strong voice. She is "incredibly attractive and confident, but also open-minded and non-judgmental."- Danny, a straight, working-class Brooklynite in his mid-20s. He is "sexy, charismatic and musically gifted, but also self-destructive and remote." Those auditioning must have the skills to sing in a rock and/or soul style.- Joe, a Brooklyn-born guy in his early to mid-20s. As many are saying since the announcement broke…let the bloodbath begin. Four characters on the NBC series  Smash  are expected to leave the show when the musical  drama returns next fall for its second season . And, their departures will undoubtedly not be disappointing to many of the viewers of the series. Who is leaving, you ask? Well, according to  Entertainment Weekly , philandering fiancé Dev (Raza Jaffrey) and devious assistant Ellis (Jaime Cepero) will no longer be regular cast  members on the show, but it is possible one or both actors could appear in an episode or two to wrap up their storylines.
