'Splash': Brooke Burns 'didn't really feel the need' to risk her neck

Brooke Burns is no stranger to the water, but she had little interest in making a current "Splash."A staple of cable movies in recent years -- encompassing her role as the sinister sibling in Lifetime's "A Sister's Revenge," which debuts Saturday, April 27 -- the "Baywatch" veteran confirms she was approached about competing in ABC's Tuesday diving contest, which features fellow "Baywatch" alum Nicole Eggert, as well as on FOX's January special "Stars in Danger: The High Dive."Burns' decision not to take part in either show wasn't overly surprising, since a 2005 diving accident left her with a broken neck. She has recovered, with significant help from a surgically installed titanium plate and rod, but other residual effects remain with her."Breaking my neck was probably the most devastating thing that I've ever been through in my life," Burns tells Zap2it. "It threatened not only my life, but my mobility and my ability to be the... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/04/splash-brooke-burns-didnt-really-feel-the-need-to-risk-her-neck.html

Kendra Wilkinson Too Scared To Dive On 'Splash' (VIDEO)

'Splash' results: Kendra Wilkinson's fears get the better of her

"Splash," ABC's new celebrity diving competition, is all about celebs overcoming physical and mental limitations in order to be the best divers they can be. But on this week's episode, Playboy playmate and reality star Kendra Wilkinson threw in the towel. This episode focused on synchronized partner dives. Wilkinson was paired with extreme skier Rory Bushfield, and the duo was set to do a partner dive that involved Bushfield holding Wilkinson while they flipped. Her crippling fear of heights became a major obstacle -- as did his health, since he ruptured an eardrum in practice and was advised by doctors not to dive. He went against medical advice and decided to do the dive anyway, but when he and Wilkinson took to the board, she couldn't get past her terror. She stood on the platform, but refused to make the dive. "I'm so sorry, everybody," she said sadly. "This is the first time in my life... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/04/splash-results-kendra-wilkinsons-fears-get-the-better-of-her.html

TV ratings: 'The Voice' gives 'Go On' a big bump Tuesday while 'Splash' dips

Fast National ratings for Tuesday, March 26, 2013As it did Monday, "The Voice" gave NBC a sizable ratings boost on Tuesday. The show led its hour in adults 18-49 and also helped "Go On" more than double its demographic rating from last week, giving the comedy its best numbers in three months. "The New Normal" improved by half a point. Also Tuesday, ABC's "Splash" took a hit opposite increased competition, but the first "Dancing With the Stars" elimination of the spring was up over the fall's first results show. "DWTS" helped push "Body of Proof" to its best numbers of the season. CBS was down some in both viewers and adults 18-49, but still strong enough to lead the night both measures. "New Girl" was steady for FOX.CBS averaged 13.5 million viewers and an 8.5 rating/13 share in households to finish comfortably ahead of ABC (9.8 million, 6.5/10). NBC (6.6 million, 4.2/7) took third, more than... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/03/tv-ratings-the-voice-gives-go-on-a-big-bump-tuesday-while-splash-dips.html

'Splash': Chuy Bravo's replacement Brandi Chastain dives right in

"Splash" lost a contestant at the outset in its second episode, as "Chelsea Lately" sidekick Chuy Bravo had to bow out after suffering a foot injury. The show was prepared for it, though -- former U.S. soccer star Brandi Chastain "just happened" to have been training on her own and jumped in for Chuy. (Or, you know, had been training at ABC's behest in case someone got hurt early on.)Chastain was first onto the board in Tuesday's (March 26) show and scored a 7.0 from the two judges. That was the night's second-lowest score, however, so she had to endure the dive-off against Detroit Lions star Ndamukong Suh. Chastain came out on top, though, and gets to move on to the next round of dives. If she ends up winning "Splash," though, it's probably safe to assume she won't rip off her top like she did at the end of the 1999 World Cup.... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/03/splash-chuy-bravos-replacement-brandi-chastain-dives-right-in.html

Splash Premiere Clips - Katherine Webb Talks Diving, Plus Celebrity Belly Flops

Celebrity competitive diving? For once it looks like ABC has created a reality series where Celebs failing badly at the task is the main draw. Somehow I just can't picture Louie Anderson doing anything remotely graceful. Then again, the big win for this series was contracting Katherine Webb, whose star is definitely hot at the moment. I wasn't even considering tuning in until I saw the Belly Flop montage though. READ MORE...

TV ratings: 'Splash' has a decent start Tuesday, 'NCIS: LA' spinoff strong

Fast National ratings for Tuesday, March 19, 2013The premiere of ABC's celebrity diving show "Splash" didn't score perfect marks in the ratings Tuesday, but it had a pretty decent start. It finished second in its hour (behind "NCIS") in both viewers and adults 18-49, and ABC says it scored the best ratings for an unscripted series premiere since "The X Factor" in 2011. "Splash" and a "Dancing With the Stars" special also helped "Body of Proof" score its biggest audience of the season.Elsewhere, "NCIS: Los Angeles" was steady with an episode that introduced a possible spinoff series, rising a little in viewers over its last new episode and holding even in the 18-49 demo. "New Girl" and "The Mindy Project" were steady for FOX.CBS had its usual wide lead in total viewers averaging just under 15 million and a 9.5 rating/15 share in households in primetime. ABC (8.9 million, 5.7/9) was the best of the... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/03/tv-ratings-splash-has-a-decent-start-tuesday-ncis-la-spinoff-strong.html
