The Lizzie Bennet Diaries
Lizzie Bennet Diaries is a modernized adaptation of the classic Jane Austen novel, Pride and Prejudice. The story is told primarily through Lizzie Bennet‘s Video Diaries, while being supported by her and other characters social media streams.
An amazing adaptation of Pride and Prejudice that really brings Austen's novel into the 21st century. Through Lizzie's vlogs we get to see this characters and truly fall in love (unless they're George Wickham) with them. And as an added touch of fun, Lizzie and her friends and family use costume theater to portray encounters with characters that we don't get to see. Definitely worth the watch (or binge watch)!
This is a really great adaptation of Pride and Prejudice, and it was really the beginning of vlog-style adaptations of literary classics. If you want the full story, I really recommend you visit Pemberley Digitals website, because aside from Lizzie's videos, there are also Q&A-videos, and several other characters also have 'spin-off's concurrent to Lizzie's story, (Lydia, Maria Lu and Gigi Darcy), plus all the characters have twitter-profiles and other social media accounts. There is also the 'sequel', based on an unfinished Jane Austen-novel, Sanditon, in which Gigi Darcy travels to the town of Sanditon, CA. For this, they created an entire community, where the fans could roleplay living in the town, (through twitter), and sometimes appear in Gigi's videos. Pemberley Digital are also behind Emma Approved, a vlog-adaptation of Jane Austen's Emma, as well as Frankenstein MD. (Frankenstein), and they are currently 'airing' The March Family Letters (Little Women). If you like modern vlog-adaptations of literary classics, I can recommend From Mansfield with Love (Mansfield Park) (current), The Autobiography of Jane Eyre (Jane Eyre) (concluded), and Elinor and Marianne take Barton (Sense and Sensibility) (concluded). There are many, many more, like In Earnest (The Importance of Being Earnest), Kate the Cursed (The Taming of the Shrew), Jules and Monty (Romeo and Juliet), Green Gables Fables (Anne of Green Gables), The Misseltwaite Archives (The Secret Garden), Nothing Much To Do or Much Ado About a Webseries(Much Ado About Nothing), The New Adventures of Peter and Wendy (Peter Pan). There are many others, including literary inspired shows like Classic Alice and The Jane Games. You'll never be bored again.
