Fast National ratings for Monday, Jan. 21, 2013The premiere of "The Following" gave FOX a big upgrade over "The Mob Doctor" Monday night, but its 10.4 million viewers and 3.1 rating among adults 18-49 were only good for second in its hour. The debut was in line with those of "Terra Nova" and "Alcatraz" last season.CBS' comedies were off a little from last week, but they still carried the Eye to a victory for the night. "The Bachelor" was up slightly for ABC to its best numbers of the season, while NBC's "Deception" slid some more in its third week. Fast National ratings for Monday, Dec. 31, 2012Those not out celebrating on New Year's Eve overwhelmingly chose to watch ABC and its annual "New Year's Rockin' Eve" special. The prime-time portion of the Times Square coverage was the night's top show, and a special honoring the late Dick Clark also scored well. The prime-time lineup gave ABC its best New Year's Eve in 12 years.ABC averaged 10.7 million viewers and a 5.5 rating/10 share in households for the night, beating second-place CBS (4 million, 2.5/4) by more than 6 million viewers. 'The Mob Doctor' canceled at FOX but will air all 13 episodes; 'Touch' premiere moves again

FOX has made official what most TV observers have anticipated since very early in the season: "The Mob Doctor" is getting whacked.The low-rated drama will, however, get to finish out its 13-episode order. The scheduling of the last four episodes practically screams "burnoff," but it is being allowed to play out the string.Following a regularly scheduled airing on Monday (Dec. 3), the show will go off the air for three weeks as FOX goes into holiday programming mode.
