'The White Queen' season finale 'The Final Battle' sees Henry VII crowned King of England

The BBC series "The White Queen" came to an end on Starz Saturday (Oct. 19) -- and it has not been commissioned for a second season by the BBC. However, Starz reportedly hopes to develop a follow-up miniseries called "The White Princess," which will also be based upon Philippa Gregory's series "The Cousins' War," which is the basis for "The White Queen."But what did you think of the season finale? It was certainly action-packed, with King Richard III meeting a bloody end at the Battle of Bosworth once Lady Margaret's husband's forces get in the fray. Lord Stanley offers the crown to Henry Tudor and thus the show has moved from the House of York controlling the throne under King Edward IV to now King Henry VII taking control for the House of Lancaster. In England's history, King Henry VII begat the subject of Showtime drama "The Tudors" -- King Henry VIII, whose children were Queen... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/10/the-white-queen-season-finale-the-final-battle-sees-henry-vii-crowned-king-of-england.html

'The White Queen's' lush, period costumes 'are all about status'

The lush series that is Starz's "The White Queen," airing Saturdays, has the epic drama expected in the telling of the fight for the British throne: Philippa Gregory's story, the layered history and the acting.A period piece also requires the right costumes, and the ones here are terrific, coming courtesy of Nic Ede."This show was all about the shapes," Ede says to Zap2it. "And on the whole I kept the decorations to a minimum.""I tried to do formalwear and everyday wear," he says. "When they are at the courts, l kept them simply dressed. All the royals go more over the top where they have court occasions. And as always with these people, everything they do is about status."Some of the shots look as deeply textured as a Vermeer painting, such as this of Jacquetta Woodville (Janet McTeer) and her daughter, Elizabeth (Rebecca Ferguson). Elizabeth, a commoner, weds King Edward IV.Here both women wear blue... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/09/the-white-queens-lush-period-costumes-are-all-about-status.html

'The White Queen' episode 4 first look: Jacquetta Woodville stands on trial

Jacquetta Woodville finds herself on trial for witchcraft in the latest episode of "The White Queen." The above image, which is revealed exclusively by Zap2it, shows Janet McTeer's character defending her honor against those who would seek to defame her. This new episode, called "The Bad Queen," revolves around Lord Warwick's (James Frain) quest for power as he plans to make his other daughter Anne a queen of England. Clearly slandering Jacquetta -- the mother of leading lady Queen Elzabeth (Rebecca Ferguson) -- is a political move, but it seems like there could be some truth to his claim. Check out a preview of the episode below: "The White Queen" airs on Sept. 7 at 9 p.m. ET on Starz.... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/09/the-white-queen-episode-4-first-look-jacquetta-woodville-stands-on-trial.html

Go to episode » 10:00pm on AMC Talking Bad Yes, it’s a little silly to air a talk show about a series an hour after said show finished airing, but for whatever reason, AMC has decided to air Breaking Bad at 9pm instead of 10pm. Hopefully you’ll actually remember what happened on tonight’s episode by the time this comes around. Short attention spans! We haz them. Go to episode » 11:00PM on AMC
