'X Factor' Redux: 6 Surprise Performances From the Final Auditions (Video)

Fox’s  The X Factor  finished up it final audition episode in Newark and San Francisco. It was actually a surprisingly straightforward hour when it came to the talent, because you know these audition episodes can go off the rails very easily. There were several very strong performers and then your normal mix of delusional people (cough,  Devon Talley ) who think they can sing. 'X Factor': Jazzlyn Little's 'I'm Going Down' is not going down anytime soon

What a perfect name for a pop star, as the "X Factor" judges point out. Sixteen year-old Jazzlyn Little takes on Mary J. Blige's "I'm Going Down" and it's pretty fantastic, especially considering her age. The maturity and the emotional depth that comes through is palpable. "Your name is Jazzlyn Little? That's a superstar name with a superstar voice," says L.A. Reid. Simon echoes, "We've been worked.""You are a little brilliant gem. We love you, the audience loves you," says Paula."Jazzlyn, I'd love to see what you're like when you've got confidence," says Simon. "What I love about you is you, I get the feeling, love music, are taking this seriously, are someone who wants to get better, and that's why we made this show. To find people like you."What did you think "X Factor" fans?... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/09/x-factor-jazzlyn-littles-im-going-down-is-not-going-down-anytime-soon.html

'X Factor': Brennin Hunt's 'How We Make it' - will he make it?

We had another original song come our way via Brennin Hunt on "The X Factor." He's a 26-year-old pop-country guy in a v-neck with piercing blue eyes, so you know he's going to go far on this show. It helps he can sing pretty well too.Simon calls his voice "brilliant" and praises his charisma, saying he could make Brennin into a great artist. Paula says the tone of his voice struck a chord in her heart. He makes it through with four yes votes. We weren't necessarily running to download his music, but we think Brennin could be very successful on this show. 'X Factor': Tora Woloshin's 'I Want You Back' makes us want her back

Tora Woloshin took the stage for "The X Factor" and she honestly looked like a gag audition. And someone who should have a reality show on Bravo. But then she sang "I Want You Back" by the Jackson 5 and everybody went nuts."You're a little firecracker there," says Paula. "You turned the place out, girl," says L.A. Reid. "I absolutely love you, Tora," says Simon. "Something about you, the minute you walk out. That's why this show is called 'The X Factor.' It's more than just the voice, it's something else.""You got somethin unique in your voice, but you're just different. There's something funky and cool about you," adds Nicole. And Paula praises her sweetness. She gets through with flying colors. What did you think, "X Factor" fans?... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/09/x-factor-tora-woloshins-i-want-you-back-makes-us-want-her-back.html

'X Factor': Cari Fletcher's 'Alone' - what did you think?

Pretty, blonde Cari Fletcher took the "X Factor" stage to perform "Alone" by Heart, which has quite the history on shows like this. She wasn't as good as we were hoping she'd be. She's only 17, but so was Allison Iraheta. The verse is too low for her and kinda fuzzy, but only means it's lower because she needs to be able to hit the high stuff later. The high stuff was definitely good. Nicole complimented her "potential" and Paula said "very talented." L.A. Reid says she has a star's name, a star's face and a star's voice. Simon says, "There's nothing distinctive about it, for me ... You've gotta become an entertainer, you've gotta be memorable." She ends up with four yes votes. What did you think, "X factor" fans?... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/09/x-factor-cari-fletchers-alone---what-did-you-think.html

THE X FACTOR (US) “Auditions #4: Newark/Dallas” Review

THE X FACTOR  (US)  “Auditions #4: Newark/Dallas” - First things first, and I have to say this: Why do they feel like they have to even attempt the drama of “yes or no” after multiple judge standing ovations? It’s a waste of time. I’m not sure why they would waste time with this rather than making more room for other contestants. Also, someone needs to control the audience and their random bouts of applause. Unless there’s an applause sign on the fritz, or it was canned, there’s a lot of unnecessary cheering going on, and at weird random moments. That’s done. So… http://www.daemonstv.com/2011/09/29/the-x-factor-us-auditions-4-newarkdallas-review/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+daemonstv+%28Daemon%27s+TV%29&utm_content=Google+Reader

Josh Krajcik Surprises Simon Cowell 'At Last' on 'The X Factor' (VIDEO)

After a lackluster start that didn't seem to spotlight nearly enough quality singers, 'The X Factor' (Wed., 8PM ET on FOX) came back much stronger in its second week. There were perhaps no stories as compelling as Chris Rene's rehab saga, but it was made up for in sheer talent. Josh Krajcik proved to be the most unexpected surprise of the night. How many people watching just knew this was going to be a trainwreck as we saw his mother preening over him like he was the greatest singer the world has yet to meet. Then there was the fact that he looked like she'd dragged him off the couch where he was watching 'Three Stooges' shorts eating Cheese Puffs. But when he opened his mouth and started singing Etta James' 'At Last,' every jaw in that theater dropped. http://www.aoltv.com/2011/09/29/josh-krajcik-surprises-simon-cowell-the-x-factor-video/

'X Factor': 4Shore - the next Boyz II Men?

A four-part group took the stage on "The X Factor" Wednesday night (Sept. 28), calling themselves 4Shore because they are from Virginia Beach and there are four of them. They took on Boyz II Men's "End of the Road," which - wow. Boyz II Men might have the best harmonies we've seen in the last 40 years and that was their seminal hit. Plus judge L.A. Reid wrote it.The judges went bonkers. We were not as bonkers at home. 4Shore was OK. They certainly deserved to advance and try to hone their talents, but we didn't think their harmonies were "impeccable," as Paula said.We also think Simon's critique that these guys could be a worldwide success is a wee bit premature - "I always wanted to find an artist who would be a success all over the world and for Americans to be proud of. And I feel they would be proud of you representing... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/09/x-factor-4shore---the-next-boyz-ii-men.html
