In February 2008, 14-year old Brandon McInerney and 15-year old Lawrence King sat a row apart in 8th grade English. Just days before Valentine's Day, Brandon brought a gun to middle school and shot and killed Larry in front of his classmates. The unanswered question remains, why? Could a school yard crush - one boy's same-sex attraction - be a motive for murder? And, when one student is allowed to dress in women's attire and openly professes his attraction to another boy, does the line between exactly who bullied whom suddenly become blurred? Will a jury convict a boy who was barely 14 of first degree murder and a hate crime, and if not, are they blaming the victim for causing his own death?
