With her help, Phoenix uses the receipt with the bloody message to prove that the light stand was bought on the day of the murder, months after White purportedly saw it. Edgeworth attempts to extend the trial further, but Mia writes down a list of White's blackmail victims, leading White to confess his guilt to avoid having it read out.
