'All My Children's' Vincent Irizarry: Soap operas 'are such an important genre'

Zap2it: You've left and returned to "All My Children" several times. Now that you're back for its online life, how do you assess how soap operas have gone?Vincent Irizarry: This is such an important genre. As the years went on, we started to see them get whittled down, and it's tough.Zap2it: What's your recollection of the time when ABC canceled "All My Children" and its Online Network mate "One Life to Live"?Vincent Irizarry: I don't know why it happened the way it did.
