America's Next Top Model: Watch the New Opening Credits Here

The fairly promising premiere of America's Next Top Model: College Edition allowed the show to keep the momentum that it built for itself last season. While nobody was looking, Top Model built itself back into a fairly enjoyable program and the debut episode of cycle 19 hinted that cycle 18 might not have been a fluke. The show might actually be ready to go through a creative renaissance by aping its former, more addictive self and fusing those tropes with the year 2012. Ahead of the second episode tomorrow night, the latest opening credit sequence has been released, but does it live up to the premiere's potential? Yes and no. On one hand, the brief clip is visually striking and different enough from the other opening sequences in the show's run to stand out. On the other, you don't have any of the girl's names featured, so as to be able to connect each face to a name in the especially crowded early days of the cycle, and its length (15 seconds) combined with its jumpiness makes it feel more like a bumper than a full-fledged intro. It's not my least favorite opening sequence in the entire 19 cycle history of Top Model or anything, but it could have been a little less flashy and a little more straightforward, if only to show off the cast. 'America's Next Top Model' College Edition premiere: What did you think of the new season?

"America's Next Top Model" introduced some huge changes for the 19th cycle, the College Edition. What did you think? The Selection ShowTyra welcomes 30 semifinalists to a sorority-style house, looking like she just crawled up the beach after being marooned on an island. Seriously, what is going on with her hair? And she brings out the new judges. We miss Nigel, Jay and Miss J already. After the girls do a walk-off and a photoshoot, they have their interviews with the judges and the reading of the fans' messages is old after one person. That is just not interesting. The girls range from a home-schooled weird girl named Victoria who sounds like Sarah Palin and plays the race card in a very awkward way, to a "Kitty" who likes to meow and looks like Audra McDonald to Kristin, a girl who likes to brawl, is wearing clown-level rouge and thinks she can skate by on being pretty.... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/08/americas-next-top-model-college-edition-premiere.html

America's Next Top Model: College Edition Preview: Judgement Day

Top Model has undergone a pretty extensive Ty-over going into its 19th (!) cycle - gone are key members of the "faculty" and in their place, we have three new faces, a new cycle theme (college girls), and implementation of social media, which will make the fans the "fourth judge" for the first time. You know what all this Top Model turnover and uncertainty calls for? A scoreboard. The panel room has been spruced up a little bit, as evidenced by the behind-the-scenes look at America's Next Top Model: College Edition. Aside from the futuristic-y looking all-white color scheme, you'll notice a scoreboard in the background that's split into two sides. On one, you have the place where the cumulative score will be displayed; we don't know yet if each judge will be handing in numbers to combine with the fan vote or if this will be purely the "fourth score" being outed. On the other, there's a roster where each of the girls will be ranked according to their position in the Top Model hierarchy. This could either be a very good thing for the show, which hasn't been the most transparent at times, or it could bring out some next level cattiness that will take over the rest of the show. ANTM Judge Rob Evans: The Other Judges Disagree With My “Straight Man’s Point of View”

One of the most exciting features of America's Next Top Model Cycle 19 is the new judge, Rob Evans. He’s stunningly gorgeous, he’s a male model/boxer, and he may or may not have been courting host and fellow judge Tyra Banks while filming. Wetpaint Entertainment was lucky enough to speak with Rob at the ANTM Cycle 19 premiere party at the Tribeca Grand in New York City on August 22. And he gave us an earful! Read on for Rob’s take on all models looking the same, what makes... http://feeds.wetpaint.com/~r/wetpaint/latest/excerpt/~3/NeQZLJR3-jY/antm-judge-rob-evans-the-other-judges-disagree-with-my-straight-mans-point-of-view

America's Next Top Model Cycle 19 Premiere Photos: Co-Ed Chaos

You've read about the changes , you've met the girls , you've seen the previews - all that's left to do to prepare for the next cycle of America's Next Top Model is to get a visual on the judges and see just how photogenic cycle 19 actually is. The CW has released photos for the season/cycle premiere of Top Model, titled "The Girl Who Makes the Grade", which will revert back to the casting special format the show used for much of its run. It looks like there'll be a bikini runway showdown, each prospective Top Model wearing a shirt to represent the college/university she's currently attending and getting a chance to strut over a rather scenic pool. Top Model Thunderdome, where two girls enter and they both end up with tans. Read More... http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/tvovermind/tvnews/~3/93eemlvhmdE/
