The misadventures of Jenna Hamilton will continue into Season 4.MTV announced on Monday (Aug. 5) that they were ordering a fourth season of its critically acclaimed comedy "Awkward," though it will be the first without the guidance of creator Lauren Iungerich.As previously reported, Iungerich departed the series at the end of June, as production on Season 3 was wrapping up. The network hoped to renew the Ashley Rickards-starring comedy for another season, but a replacement for Iungerich needed to be found first.Deadline reports that Chris Alberghini and Mike Chessler have been locked in as new showrunners. MTV's hit series Awkward. faces a sudden series departure. Deadline reports that Awkward's showrunner Lauren Iungerich has abruptly announced that she's quitting the show, right as the crew wraps production on its third season. Iugnerich cites a combination of personal and professional reasons for leaving the show.. but this isn't necessarily bad news for the scripted series.
