A deeply philosophical, moving sci-fi drama that goes places you would never expect. Like Joss Whedon's Dollhouse, the theme of what creates a real person is constantly discussed. Artificial intelligences, known as the Cylons, plan to wipe out all remnants of humanity as the last of man kind struggle to survive and find a new home. It's an essential watch, not just for science fiction fans, but for all television show bingers looking for the next big show to watch.

Great at the time, and big jumps in times. Enjoyed looking at the series, good actors and at the time they made it with little technology this was a great series.

This show is not what I expected. Being a fan of Star Trek, and seeing so many overlap fans with Battlestar Galactica, I was down for some imaginative, thoughtful sci-fy complete with the bad effects and corniness that inevitably accompanies. The second part was not the case! First, you should know there are no aliens (not technically). Second, the effects, set, costuming, and acting is completely top-notch. Third, it is a bit more complex than you would think. It's closer to Lost in plot than Star Trek or other classic sci-fy. BUT, the complex ethical questions put to the characters and audience stay true to the sci-fy genre. It's a must watch for anyone!

More militaristic than sci fi, the urge to tie all loose story threads in a mythological knot gave this great show a slow death.

Best Sci fi proper gritty drama on TV to date. Good story, and has an ending....not just a "we stopped making it, so guess the end!!" show.
Based on the 1970s series....But with enough twists to be new and departed from that show which was more about wondering around the universe of the middle class...

Brought up to date, and shiny .... Top job of "Computers get too powerful and form a union"
Computer decide, no we are not happy cleaning up your pants so we are off, and losing slaves is not acceptable the humans say.

War comes, and as it turns out the robots build great looking, hot robot women...who would have guessed it....
This made the humans even more mad. They expel all items smarter than a Galaxy S3 from the planet, and get back to remembering how to hoover up and tune in the TV again.

Then the robots come back wipe humanity from the planet. Except for a few who band together and escape.

Battlestar Galactica - A remaining battle war ship gets them together just in time for the show to continue with them finding a new home.....Called "Earth" - mentioned in legend
