Blue Bloods Preview: First Look at Season 2

The hit CBS show Blue Bloods returns for its second season in two weeks.  The season premiere will feature Tony Bennett and Carrie Underwood guest starring as themselves. In the premiere of Blue Bloods , a supporter and fundrasier for the mayor elect is murdered and found dead in his car  He also happens to be the husband of one of Erin's close friends.  The mayor wants Frank Reagan to tell the public that the death is nothing more than a random act of violence, so that his new position isn't jeopardized, but Frank feels cornered by this request.  Jamie is working his own case in the premiere when he goes undercover at a bar and meets a suspicious patron. Bennett and Underwood will be performing at the major's fundraiser that is featured in the episode.  Tony Award nominee Kelli O'Hara guest stars as Lisa, Erin's close friend.  Cassidy Gifford (daughter of Kathie Lee Gifford) guest stars as Mandy, a girl at the bar. Blue Bloods' New Boss: We're Not Changing the Show

Blue Bloods ' new executive producer, Ed Zuckerman, wants to make one thing clear to viewers: He's not messing with the formula that made the sophomore CBS drama a hit in its first year. The veteran TV writer/producer was hired in May to replace outgoing creators Robin Green and Mitchell Burgess amid reports that CBS wanted to make the show more procedural. Monica Raymund to Recur on Blue Bloods As...

Monica Raymund will donning a uniform on season two of Blue Bloods . The former Lie to Me star will appear on multiple episodes of the CBS drama as Leah Sosa, a rookie officer who partners with Jamie - her old pal at the Academy - because Renzulli gets promoted to platoon commander. Raymund won't be the only new face on the September 22 premiere. Carrie Underwood and Tony Bennett will actually perform on the episode.

Carrie Underwood, Tony Bennett Make Cameos on Blue Bloods Premiere

Carrie Underwood and Tony Bennett will appear on the season premiere of Blue Bloods , CBS announced Thursday. In the episode, the singers will play themselves, performing at a fundraiser that Frank (Tom Selleck) and Erin (Bridget Moynahan) are attending. Underwood and Bennett will meet the father and daughter before singing "It Had to Be You" for the crowd. Underwood collaborated on the classic tune for Bennett's upcoming album, Duets II , which drops Sept. 20.

Kathie Lee Beams About Her Daughter's 'Blue Bloods' Cameo (VIDEO)

Kathie Lee Gifford didn't have to go far to get her story for Thursday's edition of 'The Scoop' on 'Today' (weekdays, 7AM on NBC). Gifford beamed into a proud stage mother when talking about her daughter Cassidy's upcoming cameo on the police drama 'Blue Bloods.' Gifford recently visited the set to watch Cassidy, who turns 18 next month. "They were filming at a bar. Apple doesn't fall far," she joked. Cassidy plays a teenage girl who goes to a bar with a friend and encounters the son of Tom Selleck's character, who is working undercover. 'Cassidy and her girlfriend come in a little tipsy and start flirting with Tom Selleck's younger son at the bar," said Gifford, "and then they go off to the bathroom because the girlfriend wants to do a hit of coke."

We have more intel on the season two premiere of Blue Bloods . The episode will be titled "Mercy" and it will feature guest star Kelli O'Hara in a key role. The three-time Tony Award nominee will portray Lisa, a close friend of Erin's whose marriage is not what it initially appears. On the small screen, O'Hara has appeared in All My Children and Numb3rs .

Fast National ratings for Sunday, July 3, 2011Americans celebrated the Independence Day weekend by not watching much broadcast television on Sunday. CBS led the way in viewers, but it was a very soft field.The Eye averaged 4.7 million viewers and a 3.0 rating/5 share in households for the night.
