Magda Apanowicz Tell us what's next on Caprica, the Growth of Lacy and What It's Like to Hug a Cylon

When we last left 'Caprica' (which seems like ages ago), things were descending into chaos. At the center of the madness – the suicide attempt by Amanda, Zoe's rebellious escape, the U-187 - sits one lynchpin of a character: Lacy Rand. Played by Canadian actor Magda Apanowicz, Lacy has grown from a background character into a crucial game-changer. Nearly every plotline hinges on her actions. We caught up with the ever-gregarious Apanowicz right before the finale of season 1, and she is nothing at all like the subservient, malleable Lacy. She spoke with us about the upcoming season 1.5, how in love with 'Battlestar Galactica' she is, and what it's like to hug a Cylon. To Read More Click here .

Syfy Sets Caprica Premiere Date for October

Caprica is returning to Syfy sooner than initially planned. Originally scheduled to come back in January, the Battlestar Galactica prequel, starring Eric Stoltz and Esai Morales, now will kick off Tuesday, Oct. 5 at 10/9c, Syfy announced Thursday. "We've been able to successfully re-work our schedule, and are thrilled to bring the show back during what is traditionally Syfy's most-watched time of the year," said Mark Stern, executive vice president of original programming. "The outcome should also please fans who expressed their wishes for a shorter mid-season hiatus." The second half of the season will venture to the 12 Colonies, where the "characters grapple with the physical and emotional consequences of their questionable decisions," according to the network's statement. Note the use of the words physical consequences and the fact that Paula Malcomson, whose character seemingly jumped to her death in the midseason finale, is still listed as a series' star. Alessandra Torresani of 'Caprica': Your Ultimate Sci-Fi Hottie of 2010

Our annual Sci-Fi Hotties gallery honors a tradition of gorgeous genre gals that stretches back from the supermodel multiples of Battlestar Galactica through Princess Leia's golden bikini all the way to the dawn of cinema, when Georges Méliès wisely opted to dress a bunch of girls in sailor outfits in A Trip to the Moon. This year, in a close race that included ageless genre vet Milla Jovovich and Tron Legacy's robo-vamp Olivia Wilde, readers crowned an unexpected victor: Alessandra Torresani of Caprica seized a thwomping lead. (A little bit of campaigning on Twitter always helps, of course: hope you're taking notes, Cotillard!) EW talked to the star about the joys of being a geek goddess, the eternal lure of Twitter, and (fingers crossed!) the possibility of a second season for Caprica. (Mild spoilers ahead.) SyFy Comic-Con 2010 Trailers for WAREHOUSE 13, EUREKA, STARGATE UNIVERSE, SANCTUARY, and CAPRICA

The studios, networks, and production companies go all out for Comic-Con every year and SyFy is no different. This year, not only did they bring the thunder with cast members and sneak peeks of their series and such for the panels, but they even went so far as to take over a Hard Rock cafe in downtown San Diego and turned it into their own Cafe Diem, where the menu is customized to include items like Lou Diamond Flapjacks (a play on words of Stargate Universe star Lou Diamond Phillips). Though we can’t transport you to Cafe Diem, we can provide a look at all the Comic-Con trailers that SyFy brought to San Diego this year including Warehouse 13, Eureka, Stargate Universe, Sanctuary and Caprica: Source & Trailers

Battlestar's Return

You just can't keep a good Colonial down. Battlestar Galactica, which ended its run in 2009, may be returning as a Web series called "Blood & Chrome." The Chicago Tribune is reporting that the series will focus on the young William "Husker" Adama during the first Cylon War. An older Adama, of course, was played by Edward James Olmos in the TV series. Michael Taylor, co-executive producer of Galactica and its spin-off Caprica, will write the script for the series, which he describes as being "about a young man's initiation into war: both the realities of war as fought by soldiers on the ground (and in Battlestars and Vipers), and the somewhat less real version portrayed in the media." "Blood & Chrome" will run nine or 10 episodes at 10 minutes each, and if it's greenlit into production will be shot on green screens and virtual sets. The Battlestar sets were scanned before being struck when the show ended, and hence are available to be recreated for something like this. To Read More Click Here .
